Professional Experience

Debra Baetz began serving as Director of Orange County’s Social Services Agency on July 2018. She started her career with the Orange County Social Services Agency in 1989 in the Assistance Programs Division as a Medi-Cal Eligibility Technician. She was able to move and grow within the division to eventually serve as Deputy Division Director, Regional Operations. In 2014, Ms. Baetz accepted a rotation as a Deputy Division Director of Professional Standards and Development, where she had oversight of Training and Career Development, Program Integrity, Centralized Operations and Volunteer and Outreach Coordination.

In 2016, Debra moved into the position of Deputy Division Director, Operations Management and Support Services. In 2017, she was promoted to the position of Division Director, Family Self-Sufficiency and Adult Services.

Education

Debra holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton and an Associate of Arts Degree from Coastline Community College. Debra is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, part of an Executive MBA fellowship program, at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business.
