Professional Experience

Tracey Belton began serving as Director of San Benito County Health and Human Services Agency in March of 2019. Tracey has over 25 years of experience in the Health and Human Services field, in which she started her career as an eligibility worker in 1997. She has extensive knowledge in Public Assistance Administration, Child Welfare Services, and Adult Protective Services. Prior to her promotion, Tracey was the Deputy Director of both the Protective Services and Public Assistance Divisions for San Benito County.

San Benito County Health & Human Services promotes personal responsibility, independence and self-sufficiency among individuals and families through a responsive and accessible system that acknowledges the dignity of all populations they serve and provides services to members of the community with respect and compassion.

Education

Tracey holds a Bachelor Degree in Administration of Justice, with a minor in Sociology, from San Jose State University.

Community

Tracey has a strong passion for helping people and is devoted to advancing the community’s knowledge and understanding of both available public assistance programs and education, in regards to the impacts of poverty on children and families. She is actively involved with several county committees, boards and professional teams including San Benito County Homeless Committee, School Attendance Review Board (SARB), Domestic Violence Committee, Sexual Assault Review Team (SART), First Five Commission, and Community Corrections Partnership (CCP). Tracey is also a forensic interviewer for the Child Abuse Response Team (CART).
