2022 ISM Award for Collaboration Across Boundaries

See how the CalSAWS Innovation Program is bringing new ideas and delivering rapid results throughout the CalSAWS ecosystem.

October 24, 2022 – CalSAWS

The CalSAWS Innovation Program was recognized at the 2022 IT Solutions Management (ISM) for Human Services Annual Conference produced by the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) for its excellence in collaboration across boundaries.

The Innovation Program was launched to identify ideas or technology solutions that would provide the most client value and could be designed and implemented rapidly as a Proof of Concept (POC) to quickly assess value and impact.

Modeled after the popular ABC television show, “Shark Tank”, the Innovation Program has galvanized ingenuity and creativity across the ecosystem to transform the CalSAWS culture into an environment that fosters innovation, promotes new technologies, and rewards people for creating ideas that benefit customers and county staff.

The program has brought the Consortium, Counties, and Vendors closer together by promoting, encouraging, and empowering every person and organization to always be thinking about how CalSAWS can leverage technology in new and creative ways to improve the customer experience and our ability to serve.

In this 5-minute video, see how counties have rapidly delivered innovative solutions to empower remote workforces through new technology like virtual assistants and robotic process automation, to help Californians retain their benefits.
