Professional Experience

Dr. Alberto Banuelos is the Interim Director of Self-Sufficiency Services for the County of San Diego,
Health and Human Services Agency.  In his role, Alberto provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across the department’s key
public assistance programs, including CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs, and has most recently led the department’s H.R. 1 initiatives.
Alberto has 28 years of experience in the human services field. In addition to San Diego County, Alberto has worked for the County of Tulare and California State Association of Counties (CSAC).

Ph.D.in Public Policy and Administration.
