Professional Experience
Ethan Dye has worked in the County of Sacramento’s, Department of Human Assistance (DHA) for over 20 years. Ethan worked his way up from conducting eligibility interviews to being appointed Director in October of 2021 – leading a department of over 2,000 FTE’s and an $800m budget.
Within the Department of Human Assistance Ethan has served as a Human Services Specialist, Eligibility Supervisor (Training, Bureau, and Performance Measures), Human Services Program Specialist, (Acting) Human Services Program Planner, Human Services Program Manager, Human Services Division Manager, and Deputy Director.
Over his 21-year career with DHA he has been on many committees, but more recently he is the Vice President of Programs on California Welfare Directors Association (CWDA). In that role Ethan is on the Executive Committee of the CWDA Board as well recently being nominated to serve Region 2 JPA member for the Statewide welfare system. Ethan is also a member of the Criminal Justice Cabinet Executive Cabinet, the County DEI Cabinet, Prevention Cabinet and the Integrated System of Care leadership team.
Ethan was formally trained by The Pacific Institute (TPI) and is a certified facilitator for Investment in Excellence curriculum. He has facilitated many courses to DHA staff and delivered curriculum that promotes individual and personal growth while promoting a positive work environment
Ethan is also an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army’s, Infantry.
Education
In 2013 Ethan decided to go back and finish his college education, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Ashford University, now called the University of Arizona Global Campus.
Family
Ethan enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife of 19 years, Carmela.
